Uttar Kattali Alhaj Mostafa-Hakim Degree College, established in 1994 located by the North Kattali, Bangladesh at the prime location of the Chattogram City Corporation’s City Gate, has been able to emerge as a Center of Excellence with respect to imparting and ensuring quality education among hundreds of students belonging to the local lower, middle class and poor families. The Institution may be regarded as a Light House fighting illiteracy of the area. Late Alhaj MA Hakim initiated to establish the Institution which was later implemented by his sons who are the Chairman, Managing Director & Directors of the Mostafa Hakim Group of Companies – a noted Business Conglomerate in Chattogram.
The total number of Teaching Staff of the College is around fifty now. in addition, there are also twenty plus regular office Staff. The current roll strength of the college is around Six Thousand. Apart from HSC & 3 years Degree Course, there are Masters in Two Subjects Namely Accounting & Management and Honors Courses in Seven Subjects namely Bangla, English, Political Science, Economics, Philosophy, Accounting & Management duly permitted & approved by the National University Bangladesh. The College Campus is in a decent site away from noise and hue and cries of City life. The academic environment is excellently conducive. The Founders of the College also established a Technical Institution within the college premises where time needed Technical education has been ensured for low income group’s sons and daughters of the area to meet the Technical personnel necessity of home and abroad. As a new President & Members of the Governing Body, our sincere vision & mission is to move forward this reputed Light House of education to the pivotal heights so that the Institution could gain and bag further reputation and prosperity which could be an ideal model for other private Colleges in Chattogram.
I would urge the Teaching Staff, GB Members, guardians, Students and Well Wishers of the college to contribute to furthering the academic congenial atmosphere so that the College
could draw more and more appreciation and inspire the concerned ones in days ahead. I believe, Our joint effort will be crowned with further excellence.
The Governing Body and the Teaching Staff are the key role Players for total well being and development of the College. Sometimes, The Management can’t properly contribute for seen and unseen hindrances. The mission of the Governing Body is to choose and implement
needed programs so that dreams come to the reality. We are committed and promise bound to
proceed with vision, transparency and accountability in handing the College affairs providing and upholding quality education to the Thousands of students and thus fulfill the long cherished dreams of the Founders in all respects.
